Bear River Head Start Food Delivery Assistant for Richmond, UT.

  • Part-time (15 hrs/wk), fixed hrs, 9½ mo/yr, $9.61/hr.
  • Must be able to obtain a food handler’s permit, CPR, and first aid certifications.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and be in good physical condition.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
  • Experience working with Head Start preferred.

Under the supervision of the PHS Child Development Specialist and the PHS Center-based Coordinator, the Food Delivery Assistant will carry out the objectives and philosophy of nutrition component and work closely with staff in following program objectives.


  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality about staff and enrolled families, discussing them only on a need to
    know basis.
  • Deliver breakfast and lunch from White Pine Elementary to Richmond Head Start Classroom.
  • Wash, rinse and sanitize all equipment used for prep and service and return to proper storage area.
  • Clean kitchen after each use.
  • Return dishes to White Pine Elementary after use.
  • Sit down and assist teacher and assistant during meal time.
  • Clean up after each meal or snack.
  • Remember Bear River Head Start is a mandatory reporting agency.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


  • Dependable.
  • Experience working with Head Start preferred.
  • Experience working directly with young children and families preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a food handler’s permit, CPR, first aid certifications, immunizations, pass a TB test, physical.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, be in good physical condition, and be able to get down on a child’s level.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and have proof of insurance.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, orally and in writing and be able to communicate with staff and parents.
  • Must have the ability to be organized, cooperative, flexible, adaptable to frequent changes, and be an effective, mature team member.
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.
